Gil Scott Heron - Revolution will not be telivised

Have you read the Revolution? it is an awesome poem by Gil Scott Heron.

"...The revolution will not be right backafter a message about a white tornado, white lightning, or white people. You will not have to worry about a dove in yourbedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl. The revolution will not go better with Coke. The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath. The revolution will put you in the driver's seat. The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised, will not be televised, will not be televised. The revolution will be no re-run brothers; The revolution will be live."

An Essay by Einstein -- The World As I See It

Einstein also wrote essays. I think he did it between splitting atoms, and making witty remarks.

"...This topic brings me to that worst outcrop of herd life, the military system, which I abhor... This plague-spot of civilization ought to be abolished with all possible speed. Heroism on command, senseless violence, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism -- how passionately I hate them!"

The travails of single south Indian men

A very humorous peice by some chap at the IIT regd the doomed life of all southi's.

"...Before he knows, his smart, seductively named northy classmates start calling him Paratha. No woman in their right minds will go anyway near poor Parthasarathy. His investment banking job doesn't help either. His employer loves him though. He has no personal life you see..."

My Daddy Strongest

After much delay, I finally scanned a lot of dad's old pictures. To set them out in a place deserving enough, I have started a new blog for it. I'm going to try to dig dad's brain for the stories behind the pictures.

Sharing_My_Thoughts: The death of a 200 year old Banyan tree in Mhow (MP) India

As I passed through mhow recently, I saw a huge banyan tree cut down, but still blocking almost the whole road. It was night and I couldn't click any pictures, but I did wonder what the story behind it was.

Dev tells us the story.

"...I was in Malwa Market getting some pages xeroxed at Inder Photo Copy when the electricity failed. I felt very irritated. But when Lalit, who works there, told me that the banyan tree on Main Street had fallen I felt very sad. I took a visit there and I could see it leaning precariously. The local authorities had arrived and were busy ensuring that it did not crash to the ground and cause loss of life and property. The temple at the foot of the tree had developed cracks..."

Indain Weight Loss programme - Thorn Tree Forum - Lonely Planet

Found this neat description of the Indian weightloss system.

"Dear sir,I am taking this opportunity to write and thank you for your recommendation of the Indian Weightloss System - Home Version (Australian Release). As suggested I successfully located and ingested the virus and within a couple of hours I was alternating between sitting and bending over the bowl every 20mins or so.This continued for a good six hours until i was passing and expelling what could only be described as good quality synthetic motor oil.I then went to the hospital as I believed the process may have been continuing incorrectly. They informed me that I also needed two units of Intravenous Drip (V2) for Indian Weightloss System to work correctly.Once these had been administered I ventured home and spent the next two days not eating and whilst the bending over had ceased (which I realised will affect the affectiveness of the system) the sitting down did not cease until last night. As a consequence I feel like a wine cask bag with a hole in it and quite tired from lack of sustainence, but believe I may have lost a few kilos. All in all a satisfactory outcome. Please advise me of any further products you have available. Many thanks,Eugene. "
